Yoryi Valencia
Founder & CEO, Geoenergy Consulting
Yoryi Valencia is a geoscientist with over 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, specializing in seismic-stratigraphic interpretation, structural geology, and exploration risk assessment. Her expertise spans basin analysis, play and prospect evaluation, and integrated stratigraphic modeling across some of the most complex offshore basins in the Caribbean and South America.
Throughout her career, Yoryi has led and contributed to major exploration projects with PDVSA, including regional stratigraphic modeling in the Carupano Basin and prospect maturation efforts that identified multiple new exploration opportunities. Her work integrates 2D/3D seismic interpretation, biostratigraphic analysis, and sedimentological modeling to reduce uncertainty and support high-stakes exploration decisions.
She holds a Master of Science in Earth Sciences from Universidad Simón Bolívar and a Graduate Diploma in Petroleum Geosciences from the Institut Français du Pétrole in Paris. Her technical contributions have been presented at international conferences including AAPG and the International Gas Research Conference, and published in the Journal of Natural Gas Science and Engineering.
